Kristin and Erin are nothing short of lifesavers. My son was a very difficult case because he struggled with pretty serious stomach issues for the first several months of his life and thus had chronically interrupted sleep. Once I finally got his stomach issues resolved (another saga that Kristin helped me with!) I was ready to sleep train but I had no idea how to begin. Our older child is (and always was) a sleep MASTER so I had not been through any real sleep training regimen yet. I wanted to be gentle with my son because I knew he had had such a rough start to his little life, but I also could tell that he was exhausted and really needed sleep. And, so did my husband and I! Kristin and Erin came up with a very specifically tailored program that addressed  the issues we were dealing with, our son’s sleep history, as well as the unique quirks of our small Brooklyn apartment. Within a week, he was sleeping through the night! It was as painless as I could have hoped. Kristin and Erin were available for questions and advice and reassurance the whole way. My son is now 1 year old and sleeps every night from 8 PM to 7 AM! I strongly recommend Kristin and Erin as sleep training consultants because they will approach your situation from a very personal standpoint. They don’t come in with a formulaic set of ideas, but rather get to know the family’s particular needs and desires and, with their years of experience, are able to craft a plan that works for each unique, individual family. They are nonjudgmental and understanding, warm and supportive. And they will be with you through the journey.

I had no clue what to expect when I decided to breastfeed my son. As a veteran Mom, the hospital assumed that I knew all about breastfeeding and didn’t offer me any classes or support. I was struggling with getting my son to latch as well as how to increase my supply. I reached out to the women at Nanny Nod and they were unbelievably the best! Their wealth of knowledge helped me understand the basics of breastfeeding. I received so much support and information from them. I’m so grateful for them!

Sleep had always been a struggle for my infant daughter, Mackenzie.  From the day we brought her home from the hospital she was an extremely light sleeper, had trouble stringing sleep cycles together, and cried often throughout the night.  By 8 months of age she still required assistance to fall asleep and woke at least 3 times overnight.  Unable to self-soothe, she required us to settle her back to sleep each time she woke and often had long awake patches overnight.  To make matters worse, she was still feeding overnight and was generally waking around 4:30 am for the day.  We were utterly exhausted and knew this wasn’t sustainable but I had deep reservations about sleep training (due to a previous poor experience, 2 years prior, with different consultant(s), for my older son).  Eventually, I engaged Kristin and Erin at Nanny Nod to sleep train Mackenzie.

To my great surprise, Mackenzie very quickly learned to put herself to sleep unassisted and to re-settle herself back to sleep when she woke overnight.  She also dropped the night feed immediately without issue.  Mackenzie now sleeps through the night, and is sleeping longer at night. This has meant better quality sleep for her, and more rest for the whole family.

Kristin and Erin were truly phenomenal and unlike any sleep consultant I had previously dealt with. They made it their mission to understand Mackenzie – her unique sleep habits, challenges, and temperament – and developed a truly individualized sleep training plan.  They attended to every last detail, which proved to have a huge impact on the overall success of the sleep training.

They were compassionate, thoughtful and sensitive to our family’s needs - a positive force of energy at a challenging and exhausting time.  They taught us so much about Mackenzie’s idiosyncratic sleep patterns, and provided us with the tools to keep her sleep on track beyond the sleep training period.  I never believed in sleep training until I encountered NannyNod – easily the best money we’ve ever spent!

Kristin is the most loving and patient caregiver. She genuinely loves children and wants you and your child to be at their best. She will do anything it takes to help you break your baby’s poor sleep habits and get on track- even if that means she stays overnight or holds baby squatting and shushing in the dark for an hour to gently and slowly ween them off their sleep crutches. When we met Kristin, our baby was unable to nap without being held, refused to sleep in her crib and woke every 45 minutes. Kristin devised a schedule for baby as well as a bedtime routine that was created just for our needs. She also helped prep the nursery for optimal sleep. In addition, Kristin was very sympathetic to the over-tired and frazzled parent, never judging. She dealt with me and my baby like a champ and got us on the road to better sleep.

Oh, Nanny Nod, thank you! Before sleep training, I was so exhausted I could hardly speak. I was slurring my words, crying at work, getting lost on familiar streets...It got to the point that in those rare moments when sleep was possible, it would evade me because I was so out of practice. Or desperate. Thankfully, my sister knew one of the wonderful women who make up Nanny Nod and gifted me a consultation. When Kristin and Erin showed up one afternoon, I immediately felt relieved and comfortable, like I could be completely honest with them and like I was finally ready to accept help. The baby was of course welcome to nurse or babble or drool or cry during our meeting, always a relief, and my husband and I were both welcome to share in whatever sleep-deprived, disjointed fashion we could muster. They asked great questions, like what my goals were and what I would not be comfortable with. I felt great clarifying for myself what I needed and didn't want. Then they very carefully put together a terrific plan of action-- it was so specific and thoughtful, it did feel like a hand-wrapped present. I felt heard by them and the plan felt doable. They had really catered to my family's needs and considered everything, like the very small size of our space, how much crying I was willing to endure, and what roles we could both play to make the whole experience as equitable as possible. We executed the plan to the best of our overtired ability, and were sleeping for good streaks within a few weeks. They checked in with us around then to see what else we needed but we just needed them to hear our gratitude. Today my two-year-old sleeps from 7 to 7 every night. I am absolutely certain I'd be ambivalently bringing her into the bed with me at the crack of dawn every night if not for Nanny Nod. If your story at all resembles mine, please do yourself a favor and seek outside assistance. Being rested makes us all happier and healthier and when you're in the thick of it, it's really hard to do it alone. I am very grateful I was willing to ask for help, and what a help it was.

Erin was a tremendous help when I was going through a very stressful time after being discharged from hospital with my newborn son. We were having a lot of breastfeeding issues & unsure where to go for help. Erin connected me with a great lactation consultant & arranged for her to come to my home that very evening to help. She also provided me with great online breastfeeding & parenting resources, and has been incredibly helpful answering all my new Mom questions, from looking at formula feeding options to sleeping issues & safe baby furniture. She is incredibly knowledgeable & a great support. Thank you Erin!

To my favorite super nanny, Erin... what would we do without you? Erin is a smart, kind, understanding, knowledgeable, reassuring, loving and accepting resource, and baby guru.  As a pregnant mom I feel extremely lucky to have Erin's wisdom and expertise available as I prepare for baby. I know she will continue to be an invaluable resource throughout the stressful early years and the rest of baby's life! One of my favorite things about Erin is her heart, she is a natural mom through and through, not just to her own amazing son, but to countless little ones who are lucky to know her. I could talk to Erin for hours (and often do), she is wonderful listener and communicator and and understands the symptoms, struggles, fears along with the joys and excitement of mommy-hood. Thank you Erin!

Expecting!

Last year my son Brody was two and my husband was out of state working for six months and I was adjusting to single mom life. I had no family or friends around for any help, Brody wasn't sleeping and I was emotionally, mentally and physically exhausted. Erin reached out to me and was so supportive and gave such encouragement. To have someone care about you and know what your going through and can relate makes all the difference and it was so great to have her there to uplift me when I felt like everything was going wrong.

Erin was extremely helpful after the birth of each of my children. She provided so much support and love from the check-in texts,  listening ear to the kind advice. It was all so wonderful. Also, she was so thoughtful and sent me all the pictures of the best curly hair products she's found from one curly hair kiddo Mama to another. She's so great!
